Leader in Training (LiT) Program – Summer 2026 (2 positions available)
Are you a teen looking to build leadership skills, gain hands-on experience, and make a difference in your community? Our Leader in Training (LiT) Program is the perfect opportunity for youth aged 13-15 to develop essential leadership skills while volunteering in our summer day camps.
About the Program
The Leader in Training (LiT) Program is designed for teens who are interested in working with children, developing leadership abilities, and gaining real-world experience in a fun and engaging environment. As an LiT, you will:
- Participate in a practice interview to build confidence for future job applications.
- Receive day camp leader training, including teamwork, communication, and activity facilitation.
- Volunteer in our summer day camps on a scheduled basis, assisting with games, activities, and supervision.
- Learn from experienced recreation staff and develop skills that will support future employment or volunteer opportunities.
Who Can Apply?
- Teens aged 13-15 as of July 1, 2026.
- Individuals who are responsible, enthusiastic, and enjoy working with children.
- Teens looking to gain leadership experience and contribute to the community.
Application Process
Interested teens must submit a resume and cover letter outlining why they want to join the LiT program and what skills they hope to develop.

Step 2: Practice Interview (selected candidates only)
- Selected applicants will be invited to participate in a practice interview with our staff. This is a great opportunity to develop interview skills in a supportive environment.
Step 3: Training & Scheduling
- Successful applicants will complete a day camp leader training session before starting their volunteer role.
- LiTs will be scheduled to volunteer in our day camps throughout the summer.
