We know that the cost of sports and recreation gear can sometimes be a barrier. The Gear Up Box helps make it easier for everyone to try new activities, stay active, and enjoy the outdoors. By sharing gently used equipment, our community can make sure that everyone has access to the gear they need.

You’ll find our Gear Up Box at:
Janet Smith Field Building
912 Nova Scotia Trunk 1, Hebron, NS B5A 4A5

How it Works

  1. Take what you need, leave what you can.
  2. Donate only clean, safe equipment in good working order (balls, racquets, snowshoes, hiking poles, shin pads, bats, gloves, helmets, etc.).
  3. Please don’t put clothing in this box. Clothing can be donated to local agencies. Hockey gear can be donated at the Mariners Centre (45 Jody Shelley Drive).
  4. Only donate full pairs of equipment (like snowshoes or cleats).
  5. Close the lid after use.
  6. If the box needs attention, call us at 902-742-8868.

The Gear Up Box is here for everyone. Use it with care. All use is at your own risk.
