Community Better Challenge

Let’s Community Better, together

Participaction’s  Community Better Challenge will take place from May 31 – June 16 and aims to get communities across the country moving together.

Yarmouth County could win $150,000 to go toward physical activity improvements if it’s crowned as Canada’s Most Active Community? We would say that’s worth playing for!

At the conclusion of the challenge, one community will earn the top prize and title of being Canada’s most active. In addition to the national winner, there will also be finalists recognized from all regions of Canada who will be awarded $20,000.

So, be sure to get moving and tracking your physical activity minutes.

How do I track my minutes?

Track active minutes through the app to be automatically counted toward your community score. The more you track, the greater chance your community has of winning. You also have the chance to win great prizes for yourself when you use the app.

Check out the Apple App Store or Google Play and download the new ParticipACTION app.

Don’t have a way to track through an app?

No worries! There are lots of options to participate! Participate in any community challenges during the event and organizers will make sure you count. You may also submit your minutes through an attached form to any of Yarmouth Recreation’s daily challenges.

All movement counts!

Whether you take part in a fitness class, go for a walk, or do housework, every minute counts! A full community calendar of activities and events will be updated here often so you can take part in a variety of activities. We will also issue a daily challenge to encourage families to move together. Challenge other workplaces or families to move together because Everything is Better with movement!
