We need your help!! We are planning once again for the 43rd Annual Yarmouth County Athletic Awards Ceremony.
Can you please let us know about any teams/individuals that have won at Provincials or Higher in the past year?

43rd Annual Yarmouth County Athletic Awards Ceremony, November 29th at École secondaire de Par-en-Bas.

Each year since 1976, coaches, athletes, sport volunteers and officials have been recognized for their outstanding achievements at our annual Yarmouth County Athletic Awards. Yarmouth County athletes, volunteers, coaches, officials and teams that have attained a provincial title in a sport or who have distinguished themselves in a specific sport at the University, College, Atlantic, or National level.

Girls on the Move

On July 24th from 9:00am – 4:00pm at Milo Boathouse we will be hosting an event for girls ages 11-15. Girls on the Move is a packed full day of activities and opportunities such as archery, kayaking and Geocaching clue and even more. Cost is $15 and spaces are limited. Girls Day Out!

Girls Day out is for girls ages 7-10 at the Milo Boathouse on July 16th from 9:00am till 4:00pm. Spend the day doing fun activities with others your age. It will be a day packed full of fun starting with Yoga put on by Super Nova Power Yoga, to dancing with waves of confetti, to swimming and more! Cost is $15 for the day. Bring a lunch, swim stuff, change of clothes, sunscreen and water. Call Yarmouth Recreation at 902-742-8868 to register.

Women’s & Girls Self-Defense

July 10th, 2019 from 6:00pm – 8:00pm at the Muise TaeKwon Do Studio (403 Main St – Old Courthouse). FREE!

If you have ever wanted to learn to key techniques to defend yourself in case of an emergency join us July 10th from 6:00pm – 8:00pm at the Muise TaeKwon Do Studio as Madison Murphy will be instructing a self-defense class. All girls & women welcome! Absolutely no experience necessary. Dress comfortably. Spaces are limited! Register below or call 902-742-8868!

Celebrate Canada 2019!

Looking to Celebrate Canada 2019? We are compiling all we know about what is happening in and around Yarmouth for the birthday bash!

Head out to Cape Forchu for a change of scenery and kite flying!

Breakfast is BACK! The Tri County Mental Health & Wellness Association will be holding a fundraiser breakfast on Killam’s Wharf on July 1st from 8:30-10:30am.

Tri County Mental Health and wellness is a nonprofit organization committed to supporting and promoting healthy mental health for individuals, families, and community.  Our goal is to support people in need and to help alleviate wait time to be seen in our formal system. To meet these objectives we offer:

  • One on one coaching and support
  • Peer based recovery group programs
  • Wellness workshops
  • Community education & crisis support
  • Suicide Prevention & Awareness
  • Stigma reduction

This center is not designed to replace any programs currently offered but to compliment services and provide additional supports.

The funding from our fundraiser is used to support the center so we can provide services to people for free

Yarmouth Mountain Cemetery Tours begin July 1st., 2019 . Each tour has a variety of information and every tour is different – A through E. They include Free Masonry stones ,Sea captains, History of Yarmouth Mountain Cemetery, Influential Women,Politicians, Trees, Jewish Lot, Maude Lewis’s parents, World War 1 and 2 Veterans, and other interesting stones and stories. You will have to remember which tour you have already taken so you don’t repeat. At 12:10 each week day, there is a virtual tour in the Chapel where you can bring your lunch and enjoy. Also these tours are A through E. The virtual tours are about 50 minutes.

Seniors Picnic

Yarmouth Recreation would like to invite you to our annual Seniors Picnic which takes place on June 12th from 12:00pm – 2:00pm at Beacon Park. We will be offering snacks and refreshments as well as entertainment that includes music, BINGO, Trivia and board games with lots of prizes to be won! FREE Event!
