What is Tababata?
- “If you’ve gotten into interval training, you may have heard of something called Tabata training, also known as the Tabata Protocol. This workout is a form of high intensity interval training designed to get your heart rate up in that very hard anaerobic zone for short periods of time.” (verywellfit.com)
What is HIIT?
- “High intensity interval training sessions are commonly called HIIT workouts. This type of training involves repeated bouts of high intensity effort followed by varied recovery times. … This type of training can be accomplished using body weight, resistance bands, free weights, medicine balls or weight machines.” (ascm.org)
What is Chair yoga?
- “Chair yoga is a general term for practices that modify yoga poses so they can be done while seated in a chair. These modifications make yoga accessible1 to people who cannot stand, lack the mobility to move easily from standing to seated to supine positions, or want a quick break from office work.” (verywellfit.com)
What is Tai-gon-ga?
“Health At Any Size – Tai-Gon-gaNever heard of this new exercise class??? That’s because I created it.The weather was so great during the summer, that I didn’t want to come inside to stretch and strengthen my back, shoulders, hips and knees. I fractured my back & shoulder in a motor vehicle accident 2 ½ years ago and I need to regularly stretch to maintain flexibility and strength.I looked on line for a type of activity that included all the exercises I love including Yoga, Tai Chi and Qigong. I couldn’t find anything – so I created one!I call it Tai-Gon-Ga for a mixture of Tai Chi, Qigong and Yoga. I introduced it to my Qigong class during the summer and received a wonderful response, so I have included it into my regular class schedule. No experience is necessary and all classes are multi-level. I always encourage all my participants to listen to their bodies and do their best … and forget the rest. The class main focus is on back strength and stretching, but I include lots of hip, shoulders and knee exercises. You can drop in and join any of my classes or catch them ‘live’ on facebook (they are posted after each class).I have two different levels of this Tai-Gon-Ga (both classes are approximately 30 minutes)Mondays @ 11:30 am is a gentle version (standing or sitting – no yoga mat required)Wednesdays @ 12:10 pm is a little more intense (bring a yoga mat)Please drop in and let me know what you think or join me virtually on my facebook group: cinergy.Cindy RobicheauCertified Personal Trainer/fitness firstname.lastname@example.org group: cinergyYarmouth Community Health & Wellness ClassesLion’s Club, Parade Street YarmouthEveryone is welcome – all classes are drop in – by donation – multi level”(THE CLASSES NOV 16TH & NOV 17TH ARE NOT DROP IN – PLEASE REGISTER)
